The name Charles Fox may not ring that proverbial bell, but his music most certainly will — the themes for such memorable TV shows as "Happy Days," "Love Boat" and even Monday Night Football. Fox also wrote "Killing Me Softly" — which is also the title of his new autobiography.

Fox said he had originally come to California in the 1970s at the behest of a Hollywood studio executive who thought highly of his talent.

"My career has taken twists and turns," Fox said, noting that he had gotten his start playing in Latin bands before branching out into TV and short films.

KPCC’s Hettie Lynne Hurtes had a chance to talk with Charles Fox in our studio.
