Harry Potter conjured up more money than ever at the box office this weekend.

The beginning of the end of the boy wizard films manifested more money than ever in the Harry Potter franchise. HP7 drew in more than $125 million domestically its opening weekend.

Worldwide, the total was more than $330 million. And it isn’t even in 3D. Part 2 of the finale is due out next summer with an extra 3D punch. Still, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” also seemed to make all the other movies this weekend disappear.

Dreamworks' animated movie "Megamind" had led the box office the past couple of weekends. Now it is a far distant second, registering about $16 million. “Unstoppable” stopped at about $13 million for third place.

Thanksgiving weekend ahead is always one of the biggest of the year for Hollywood. Several new movies are coming out, including the Disney animated movie "Tangled" and the Cher and Christina Aguilera movie "Burlesque," among others.
