LAPD kills man during struggle in Playa Vista

Los Angeles police have shot and killed a partly naked man during a struggle in the Playa Vista area.

Authorities say officers got reports of a man acting erratically and causing a disturbance at about 3:15 a.m. Friday. The man was said to be only partially clothed. One report said he'd jumped into and out of a taxi.

Police say officers found the man and there was a scuffle when they tried to detain him, during which he was shot and killed. His identity hasn't been released.

Two officers were slightly injured during the struggle.

Police told City News Service that two more officers were injured when their patrol car crashed into a sign and some parked cars as they headed to the shooting scene.

There's no word on their conditions.
