Nearly a dozen fires set in Hollywood trash bins

Authorities say an arsonist sparked nearly a dozen fires in trash bins across Hollywood.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says the first fire broke out early Saturday at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, followed by at least eight others reported every 10 minutes or so.

KABC-TV reports that 11 trash bins were set on fire within a roughly 1-mile radius.

Scott did not know if any property was damaged or if anyone was arrested.

No injuries were reported.
