At a meeting Monday night in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County Metro staff will update the public on the Westside subway extension.
The extension would stretch L.A. Metro's purple line from its last stop at Wilshire and Western to a stop at the VA Hospital in Westwood. Four months ago, Metro’s board of directors approved a draft environmental impact report.
The board also selected a route that includes stops along Wilshire Boulevard at La Brea, Fairfax, La Cienega, Rodeo, and stops to be determined in Century City, and at UCLA. A few weeks ago, federal transit officials gave the go ahead on some preliminary engineering work on the line.
Throughout the process, L.A. Metro has kept the public in the loop. Now, it’s the people of Beverly Hills’ turn to say what they want – or don’t want – out of the estimated $5.3 billion project.
The meeting starts at 6 o’clock at Roxbury Park Auditorium, 471 South Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills.
