Pirates holding an Orange County couple captive may be nearing land. A U.S. warship is reportedly shadowing the highjacked yacht as it approaches Northern Somalia.

Pirates captured the retired couple from Orange County off the coast of Oman. Jean and Scott Adam own the 58-foot yacht called the Quest. The couple has been sailing around the world for several years, sometimes distributing Bibles in developing countries.

Another experienced sailing couple couple from Seattle was onboard and is being held as well. They all had just sailed into the region from India.

Pirates have been holding them captive since Friday.

U.S. military and state department officials spent the weekend considering options for rescuing the Americans.

Somali pirates are reportedly now holding more than 600 people captive on 30 boats for ransom money.
