The major candidates seeking the Republican nomination for president are in Southern California this week, and will gather for a debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on Wednesday evening.

All eyes will be on Texas Governor Rick Perry. It’s the first time he’ll share the stage with all the candidates since entering the crowded race last month. Perry’s considered a leading contender and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s main rival in the contest.

In all, eight candidates will take the stage inside the library’s Air Force One Pavilion: Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachman, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and businessman Herman Cain.

MSNBC will broadcast the debate live. POLITICO will stream the proceedings live on its website. CNBC and Telemundo will also broadcast the debate. NBC Anchor Brian Williams and POLITICO Editor in Chief John Harris will moderate.
