When you think about the Sit 'n Sleep Mattress Company, do you also think about America’s veterans? From now on, you will!

Company CEO Larry Miller is best known for his wacky commercials. But Miller is dead serious when it comes to vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan — 30,000 of them in California alone.

He says not nearly enough is being done to help our men and women in uniform find jobs.

"I realized how much unemployment they are facing," Miller told the O.C. Register. "They have sacrificed and served for the benefit of this country and yet we are doing very little to encourage hiring."

So Miller says he’ll hire 50 vets this year, to staff new stores he’s opening across Southern California.

According to the CEO, he wants people who can be part of a team and back each other up — and what better place to find them than in the military?

Sit 'n Sleep will set up shop at veterans hiring fairs; he’s also encouraging vets to apply online.

Miller’s announcement comes on the same day a national effort called America Wants You got underway. Its goal? To find jobs for the estimated 800,000 vets who are unemployed.
