One man is dead and two men have been wounded in separate officer-involved shootings over the past two days.

The latest shooting happened around 4:40 a.m. Friday involving El Monte police in San Gabriel.

The man was wounded, but his condition is unknown.

Another man was shot Thursday night by officers in Garden Grove when they said the man drove toward them. He is recovering in a hospital.

A third officer-involved shooting happened Thursday morning in San Fernando. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said they shot and killed a man who tried to attack an officer with a tree branch about the size of a baseball bat.

Officers said they tried to subdue the man with a Taser, but it didn't work because the man was wearing multiple layers of clothing. His identity has not been made public.
