A 23-year-old man was killed when his car was struck by a suspect fleeing police in El Sereno.

The Los Angeles Times reports Julio Cesar Reyes-Salvador of Los Angeles died in the crash Saturday.

Reyes was stopped at an intersection when a silver Chevrolet Suburban being pursued by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department rammed into three vehicles, crushing Reyes' car and killing him. The Suburban and another vehicle overturned.

Three others were injured in the crash.

Police say officers had tried to pull over the suspect on suspicion of driving recklessly when he fled.

Reyes' cousin, Brenda Gil, tells the Times Reyes was a photography student at East L.A. College.
