Los Angeles city and police officials Thursday announced a $75,000 reward leading to the conviction of whomever is responsible for the deaths of a 28-year-old mother and her toddler last month in South L.A.

Gisella Yauli and her 1-year-old son were found dead following a fire in a converted garage March 5. Investigators have found the circumstances of their deaths suspicious and have ruled the incident a double homicide.

It occurred in the city council district represented by Curren Price, who announced the reward.

"I hope that we can close this case swiftly and bring some degree of peace to the families and the community that's involved," Price said.

Anyone with information is urged to call LAPD's Newtown Division homicide detectives or leave an anonymous tip at 1-800-222-TIPS.
