The high heat and dry weather continues for another day in Southern California on Thursday. There's a predicted high in Los Angeles near 101 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather will be sunny and hot, with light Santa Ana winds between 5 and 10 mph, according to the NWS. There will likely be gusts between 25 and 35 mph across the valleys and the mountains during the morning hours, with a wind shift around noon, which can all contribute to fire danger in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Temperatures will cool in L.A. going into the weekend, with a Friday high of 93, 81 on Saturday and 74 on Sunday, according to the NWS.
Temperatures were high overnight, with 23 area weather stations with temperatures above 80 degrees at 3 a.m., according to the NWS.
