Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators searched Saturday for two men who fatally shot a mother of three outside her home as she returned home with her husband from his birthday celebration.

Tynisa Guyton and her husband, Anthony, were walking into their South Los Angeles home around midnight when two men in a dark-colored sedan pulled up and opened fire before speeding away, the Los Angeles Times reported. The couple had been planning to celebrate their daughter's eighth birthday on Saturday.

Anthony Guyton, who ducked inside and wasn't injured, said he has no explanation for the shooting. The couple had celebrated 10 years of marriage in May.

"My wife was a beautiful person," Anthony Guyton said. "I just lost my best friend."
