The 215 Freeway was completely shut down late Tuesday morning after a semi truck slammed into a construction site and caused a partial bridge collapse near Perris in Riverside County.

Lanes were closed on the southbound side from Nuevo Road, according to a California Highway Patrol incident alert. The southbound lanes had reopened by Tuesday afternoon, Caltrans spokeswoman Terri Kasinga tells KPCC.

The northbound lanes are closed at Ethanac Road, with Kasinga saying that the northbound side will remain closed until between 10 p.m. and midnight while crews clean up. Reporters on scene and drivers passing the area tweeted images showing the wooden beams partly collapsed onto the road.

The crash occurred about 10:05 a.m. No injuries were reported, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman told City News Service.
