LAPD to investigate alleged road rage incident involving officer threatening motorist with gun

Los Angeles police say they'll investigate an alleged road rage incident in which an off-duty LAPD officer threatened motorists with a gun, ABC7 reports

The station posted an image of the incident taken from a nearby vehicle on its Facebook page

Police have not divulged the name of the officer, ABC7 says, but the L.A. Times reports that police have confirmed the person in the photo appears to be an LAPD officer.

LAPD officials cautioned that they could not say whether the image had been altered, ABC7 reported.

The incident allegedly took place on the 60 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles on Thursday. ABC7 said the image was posted to the station's Facebook page.
