Six injured in multi-vehicle crash in Encino

Six people were injured Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Encino.

The crash occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard near Hayvenhurst Avenue.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said five of the injured were transported to local hospitals.

"Three of those five patients actually had serious injuries and were sent to local trauma centers. And the other two patients had non-life threatening injures and went to local hospitals. And one of those six patients declined transport," Scott said.

With multiple traffic collisions resulting in injuries across the city Thursday, Scott urged drivers to be aware of their surroundings: "So just allow extra time and extra distance for the vehicles in front of you."
