Santa Clarita teen arrested for alleged online threat

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials have arrested a teenager for allegedly posting an online threat to shoot students at Valencia High School.

Lt. Tom Bryski tells City News Service the 15-year-old was taken into custody Sunday after worried parents flooded the Santa Clarita sheriff's station with calls all weekend. The suspect's name was not released.

Lt. Brenda Cambra says the post on Instagram included photos of guns, dead bodies and a school marquee for a Valencia High School. However the marquee was from a school in another state.

Cambra says the gun photos were stock photos from the Internet. She says there is no evidence the suspect has access to weapons.

Officials say the post also made threats against women and included racial threats.

The investigation is ongoing.
