Suspect yanked from SUV after high-speed chase in Los Angeles

A lengthy high-speed pursuit on a freeway and surface streets ended with a suspect being yanked from the driver's seat of an SUV by Los Angeles police.

Police cruisers cornered the late-model black SUV at around 9:20 a.m. Monday after it exited U.S. 101 and drove under an overpass in the western San Fernando Valley.

The male driver had led authorities on a 50-minute chase through rush hour traffic, often running red lights.

He struggled with officers after they dragged him to the pavement and cuffed him.

It's unclear why authorities initially tried to pull the driver over.
