Los Angeles is getting a break from the heat this week, and it could see some much-needed rain.
Temperatures are expected to cool into the 70s Tuesday across Southern California, according to the National Weather Service.
Patchy fog and a chance of drizzle were forecast for the morning hours before 11 a.m., with a 20 percent chance of rain into Wednesday morning.
"We're not looking at any real measurable amounts unfortunately, but it should be noticeable. I mean, people will have to put their wipers on so it's enough to be excited about anyway," said Kathy Hoxsie of the weather service.
Downtown Los Angeles has recorded 5.16 inches of rain this year, less than half the normal value of 11.13 inches for this time of year.
