Evacuations lifted after chemical leak in Riverside

A chemical leak in Riverside prompted the closing of nearby Lincoln High School and sent 11 people to the hospital. 

The unknown gas was reported at 10th and 14th streets and Victoria Avenue early Monday, tweeted the department. The unknown gas leaked came a 5-foot-tall welding tank in a resident's backyard, according to the Los Angeles Times

Three police officers and a firefighter were among those taken to hospitals while seven residents drove themselves to hospitals for evaluation, reports the Times.

As of 12:30 p.m. Monday, Riverside Fire said the incident had been cleaned up and evacuations were lifted.
