LAPD officer arrested in Huntington Beach for alleged lewd act

Los Angeles police officer Ryan Galliher was arrested last Thursday in Huntington Beach for allegedly committing a lewd act in public, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD responded to Huntington Beach to meet with Galliher, who was off-duty during the time of the incident, according to the press release.

“It is appropriate that I reserve judgment on this matter until all of the facts have been gathered and the investigations have been completed,” LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said in a press release. “However, let me be very clear, I will not tolerate any behavior that reflects negatively upon this Department and tarnishes our relationship with our Communities near or far."

Galliher was assigned to stay at home to await the outcome of the investigation, according to the press release. The LAPD began its own internal investigation in addition to the criminal investigation.

Galliher was hired three years ago and assigned to the Southwest Division.
