Missing California pony reunited with owner, age 9

A missing pony mystery in California has been solved.

The Shetland pony found wandering a street in Riverside County was reunited with her owner on Friday.

KABC-TV reports 9-year-old Jolette Rodriguez positively identified the missing animal as her pony Blossom after answering questions from shelter officials.

Jolette's family says someone left the front gate to the family's Jurupa Valley home open and the pony wandered out.

A sheriff's deputy found the pony the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

The girl's family says they contacted the shelter but were told the pony was not there. Jolette's parents say she spent a week and a half crying.

Upon reuniting with her pony Friday, Joellete said she was "very, very, very happy."
