The Los Angeles Police Department released the names Thursday of three officers who shot and killed a homeless man on Skid Row on March 1, 2015.

The officers were Sgt. Chana Syed, Officer Francisco Martinez and Officer Daniel Torres, LAPD officials have confirmed to KPCC.

The three were responding to a robbery call when they got involved in a struggle with a homeless man who was believed to be the suspect, according to the LAPD.

Commander Andrew Smith has said in the past that none of the officers involved have fired their weapons on the streets before the shooting on March 1.

That suspect was later identified as Charly Leundeu Keunang, 43, a Cameroon national.
