Authorities say a weekend gun buyback in Los Angeles yielded nearly 750 handguns, shotguns and rifles — including 29 assault weapons.

People turned in the guns Saturday with no questions asked in exchange for Ralphs pre-paid grocery cards. Nearly $77,000 worth of the gift cards were handed out.

Authorities say well over 14,000 guns have been turned in during buyback programs since 2009.
