Officials in the city of Moreno Valley have approved construction of a 40-million-square-foot warehouse that officials say will bring an estimated 20,000 jobs to the area.

KABC-TV reports the 3-2 vote Wednesday night came after days of debate. Supporters hail the increase of much-needed jobs in Riverside County, but critics say the project could also bring traffic and pollution.

The World Logistics Center will be located on a 3,800-acre section of land in the city's eastern end.

KABC says the structure will be one of the largest warehouse complexes in the United States.
