A utility company spokesman says a three-week-old leak from a massive natural gas storage well outside Los Angeles continues as workers search for the best way to stop it.
SoCalGas spokesman Javier Mendoza said workers on Saturday were developing a strategy a day after it spewed a murky mist for 90 minutes when the crew poured a briny solution into the well to stop it.
Porter Ranch residents who live nearby say they are concerned for their health and upset by a stench from the leak detected on Oct. 23.
Neighbors have complained of headaches and nausea, though the utility says the rare leak does not pose an imminent threat to public health because the gas is dissipating.
Mendoza says the storage facility is believed to be the largest in the West.
