This weekend, we eat, drink and dance in David Bowie's honor.

Monty Bar in Westlake is hosting a tribute to not one but two music legends: David Bowie and former Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. There's an impressive lineup of DJs: Jerry Casale of Devo, Lol Tolhurst of the Cure, Nik Turney of Hawkwind and others who have ties to Bowie. They'll spin their favorite songs and tell stories of these two music greats. Pro tip: There will be happy hour. And you can return Saturday for BYOB Bowie. More here.

Whether its Ziggy Stardust or Aladdin Sane, pick your favorite Bowie and head to Out Of The Closet. Because Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood is throwing a Bowie costume contest, and you'll likely need to up your ante. "All Bowies welcome" at this celebration. Doors open at 9 p.m. Friday. The evening will involve a cover band and dancing in the moonlight.

Enter the world of "Labyrinth," where George Lucas is executive producer, Jim Henson is director and David Bowie is the star of the show. In this 1986 cult classic, Bowie plays Jareth the Goblin King, a mysterious character who rules over the goblins and has the power to transform himself into a barn owl. You can also expect puppets, a young Jennifer Connelly and tons of Bowie music. "Labyrinth" will play throughout the weekend at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana.

Back-to-back Bowie: Stick around Santa Ana Saturday night for another Bowie film. The Frida Cinema will screen two showings of the creepy horror film "The Hunger." Bowie plays vampire John Blaylock, who seeks the help of gerontologist Dr. Sarah Roberts, played by Susan Sarandon. And yes, this did lead to an off-screen romance. More on that here.

Head over to Cypress Park for an epic dance party. The roving Cretin Hop is throwing itself a four-year anniversary party at Footsies Saturday. Members of the rock n' roll band Davila666 will be there for a live performance — and most of the night's tracks will be from Bowie.

Part Time Punks is hosting its sixth annual Bowie Night at the Echoplex on Sunday, and it'll feature the Smiths' Andy Rourke. Both floors of the venue will be filled with fans singing along to all of Bowie's iconic tracks. The tribute starts at 9 p.m., and tickets are $15 at the door.

DecaDance is honoring Bowie this Sunday with a musical and visual tribute as Eddy Zaint, VDJ Pepper and Joe Leyva come together to honor the quintessential art that the late icon created throughout his decades of influence. The event says that it will be a "musical journey" that begins at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and lasts into the wee hours of the morning at Epic Lounge in Downey.

8. Bowie's Hollywood Star
If you have the day off, talk a stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame to see Bowie's star. Fans have been paying tribute this week with candles, flowers and other mementos.
