Pasadena Police officers shot a suspect Friday morning following a traffic stop, Sgt. Richard Padilla told KPCC.

The incident took place at about 9:15 a.m., after a traffic stop near Los Robles Avenue and Buckeye Street that led to a chase on foot.

Police shot and injured the suspect, who was then transported to a local hospital. There was no other information on his condition. Padilla noted that the available information on the incident was was still preliminary.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area of Los Robles Avenue and Adena Street as they investigate the incident.
