Los Angeles police officers shot and killed a burglary suspect in Boyle Heights after receiving a call around 8:30 p.m., Officer Abe Rangel told KPCC.

The suspect was still at the scene when officers arrived, Rangel said, after responding to a call of a burglary in progress.

The suspect was threatening the burglary victim, an elderly man, with a knife, LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman told KPCC. The man suffered minor lacerations but refused treatment.

It's unclear what led to the shooting.

There was no indication that there were other victims at this time, Rangel said. No officers were hurt.
