Los Angeles police say a car jumped a curb and ran over four pedestrians Saturday afternoon, killing a 63-year-old woman and injuring three of her young relatives.

Lt. Debra Brounstein says the car went onto the sidewalk after colliding with another vehicle in North Hollywood.

The woman died at a hospital. The children — ages 13, 8 and 7 — and the driver of one of the vehicles were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. NBC4 LA reports that the deceased woman was the grandmother to the three children.

The incident, which was reported at about 4 p.m. in the 12700 block of Vanowen Ave. Saturday, is under investigation, according to the Los Angeles Times. Brounstein says drugs or alcohol do not appear to be involved.
