A crash caused a power pole to fall around 4 a.m. Friday, initially leaving 1,700 in the San Fernando Valley without power, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Twitter feed

As of 9:20 a.m. 586 LADWP customers in the San Fernando Valley were still without power, according to the utility provider's outage map

LADWP expects all customers' power to return by 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The outage comes as a heat wave brings temperatures nearing triple digits to the Southland. 

The crash that caused the pole to fall happened in Van Nuys on Burbank Boulevard, NBC Los Angeles reported
