All lanes of the southbound 605 Freeway at Telegraph Road have been reopened after a deadly and fiery multi-vehicle crash closed them off for much of the morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos told the Associated Press that the initial report early Tuesday was of a car crashing into the center divider near Santa Fe Springs.
He says subsequent calls reported that up to five vehicles were involved, and at least one had burst into flames.
Villalobos says a man in his 40s died. There were no initial reports of injuries.
