Large cranes and concrete panels will again take over a section of the 710 Freeway during a 54-hour closure this weekend.
All lanes of northbound Interstate 710 will be inaccessible between 10 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Monday. The freeway's southbound lanes will remain open.
Caltrans offered this map of optional detours:
In the fifth installment of a series of nine weekend closures, the California Department of Transportation said they will upgrade the freeway's median barriers and create new maintenance pullouts along the route.
The closures will divert traffic to the northbound I-5. Detour signs will be also posted, according to Caltrans.
The closures are a part of Caltrans' $120 million pavement replacement project along the 710. The project began in 2012 and is scheduled to wrap up in 2017. The 710's lane closures are scheduled to last for four more weekends.
