Hail to the sun: LA weather to warm your cold, wet heart

There will be wind this weekend — but also sun — as the Los Angeles area trades in its long-neglected puffer coat and rain boots for a flip-flop, so to speak.

Did part of the region experience hail last week? Yes. Is it now experiencing above average temperatures? Also yes.

Tom Fischer, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service, told KPCC that typical temps this time of year hover around the upper 60s. He expects above-normal temperatures lasting from Friday through Tuesday — about 10 degrees above normal in some areas.

The inevitable cool-down is not expected to chill quite so severely next week, and there’s a possibility of light rain between Thursday and Saturday.

Follow the forecast, beware of post-storm scamming contractors and see what we look like from space.
