Alhambra man shot, killed by officers after family dispute

An investigation continued Saturday after Alhambra police shot and killed a man.

The shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 2900 block of West Main Street. A woman called police to report a disturbance involving herself, her husband, and their 25-year-old son. She said her son possibly had a gun.

"As [officers] neared the location, they heard multiple gunshots near the residence," said Sgt. Bob Boese with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. "When officers positioned themselves across the street from the suspect's residence, the suspect fired several rounds at them, and an officer-involved shooting occurred."

The son died at the hospital. His parents were unharmed. No officers were injured. Investigators say they recovered a shotgun and a revolver at the scene.

Footage from the officers' body cams will be reviewed as part of the investigation.
