If you're still scrambling to fill out your early Valentine's Day weekend, we've rounded up some options for everybody on the romance spectrum. 


Grilled Cheese Meltdown 

Throw that adolescent image of a simple grilled cheese out of your head immediately — these are no joke. One ticket scores you tastings from seven eateries, each with a creative take on the classic cheese and bread combo, two drink tickets, games, giveaways and more. Then you get to play food critic and vote on your favorite.

Mortified Doomed Valentine's Show 

For the romantically marginalized: Head over with an equally single friend for an anti-Valentine's Day event that consists of live storytelling from people brave enough to share their tales of past V-Days gone askew. Expect to hear everything from prepubescent diary entries to dramatic poems written at the peak of heartache. Here, all guests can share in the shame of rejection, incompatibility and unrequited love.

Black Cat protest 50th Anniversary 

The nation's first organized LGBT rights protest took place in Silver Lake 50 years ago. This Saturday, the site of the original gathering, The Black Cat gastropub, will pay tribute with an after-hour rally and party. Attendees can raise a glass, dance the night away and participate in a demonstration march on Sunset Boulevard.

Camellia & Tea Festival

Camellias are in bloom and not only does that mean stunning pictures for Instagram, but it also means tea! The pink blossoms will be brewed and poured into dainty mugs for your sipping pleasure. Pair that with a stroll through the lush gardens and you'll feel like you've traveled to the English countryside. This event also includes some crafting, tea lectures and a live dance performance.

Daft Punk pop-up store 

The face-hiding, elusive electronic music duo are giving fans a rare retrospective of set pieces, wardrobe, photography and of course, their signature robot helmets. Exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase, including jackets, yo-yos and ... frisbees? So, pump your favorite tunes in your car on the way over.

Highland Park Community Pet Fair 

This mini pet expo is your one-stop shop packed with all the essentials for your furry companion. Soak up information about stray cats, attend demonstrations on pet grooming, or pick out a new friend to take home from the Best Friends Animal Society. With a dog park just a couple paces away, this could make for a killer Saturday.

Chinatown Firecracker Run and Festival 

Up for a 10k run? How about a 5k? You also have the option of walking or biking it, but either way, you'll be rewarded with a celebratory festival shortly after. Or, you can skip the physical stuff and just stick to the free dance performances and more — your pick.
