It isn't officially summer yet, but it sure feels like it. Hit up a hot air balloon festival (with wine), gorge on some seriously fresh bread or shop away at an artisan market.

Los Angeles Bread Festival

Mmmmm, carbs. There won't be any shortage of bread at this pop-up marketplace — Italian loaves, pita, challah, sourdough, you name it. Once you've had your fill, pioneers of the city's artisanal bread scene will hold baking demonstrations and a butter-making workshop (because, yum) so you can have truly fresh bread and butter whenever you get the whim to throw on an apron.

WHEN: Saturday, June 3 - Sunday, June 4, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
WHERE: Grand Central Market, DTLA | MAP
COST: Free

American Horror Story: The Style of Scare

Here's your chance to take a look behind all the smoke and mirrors that make up the frightening world of "American Horror Story." This exhibit will feature costumes, props and multimedia presentations that make up the iconic scenes from every season — whether your favorites involve witches of the Coven, inmates of the Asylum or unique members of the Freak Show. We recommend that the faint of heart steer clear of this.

WHEN: Saturday, June 3 through July 30
WHERE: The Paley Center for Media, Beverly Hills | MAP
COST: Free

Lummis Day Festival

Northeast Los Angeles is rich with local history and packed with preserved buildings that stood the test of time, including Lummis Home, Heritage Square Museum and Southwest Museum. From a film event at Occidental College to an exhibition of L.A.'s murals in Highland Park and more. Check out the weekend's full schedule

WHEN: Friday, June 2 - Sunday, June 4
WHERE: Various locations across northeast L.A.
COST: Free

Time to dive head first into this weekend of live art performances at three outdoor spaces in downtown L.A. The work might be a bit abstract, but it includes a 900-foot harp, a DJ set from Gaslamp Killer and more, culminating with a ticketed event at Pershing Square. The final celebration will showcase art cars made iconic by the desert festival Burning Man. If you prefer a more mellow outing, you might want to check out something else.

WHEN: Friday, June 2 - Saturday, June 3
WHERE: Various locations
COST: Free, plus one ticketed event

Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival

What better way to usher in June than a day outdoors with a glass of wine and a view of a blue sky filled with hot air balloons? How about actually getting into one of those airborne balloons (wine drinkers will not navigate them.) If you've been looking for a quick one-day getaway, wine tasting and those colorful globes might be your answer.

WHEN: Friday, June 2 - Sunday, June 4
WHERE: Lake Skinner Recreation Area, Winchester | MAP
COST: Tickets start at $23 | Get tickets

Urban Air Market

Instead of hitting up your usual shops, check out this outdoor market featuring more than 100 sustainable and eco-friendly fashion brands. Expect everything from jewelry to clothes to housewares to cosmetics — all handmade and easy on the planet, which will balance out the guilt that comes with spending that chunk of cash.

WHEN: Sunday, June 4, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
WHERE: Hillhurst and Franklin Avenue, Los Feliz | MAP
COST: Free
