Authorities say three people have been killed in a crash on a Southern California freeway involving four cars and a semi-truck.
Several lanes of State Route 60 in Riverside County were shut down in both directions for several hours following the crash around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
The California Highway Patrol says initially an eastbound car with three people inside smashed into the center divider. A few minutes later that car was hit, setting up a multi-car collision.
KABC-TV reports Caltrans officials say one of the three people who died was a person trying to help in the initial wreck.
