If you bought a flight that takes you to — or through — Florida, officials at Los Angeles International Airport urge you to check in with your airline.

Several airports in Florida are closed due to intense winds and rain from Hurricane Irma.

LAX spokesperson Frederick Badlissi says eight airports in the sunshine state are currently closed and that number is expected to increase.

A total of 46 Florida flights to and from LAX, that includes arriving and departing, have been canceled.

Badlissi said the airport has brought in extra guest service representatives to help fliers who have been affected by the closures.
