UPDATE: Detectives from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department safely located baby Jefferson Gomes and his father, Jeffrey Gomes, on Saturday, Nov. 4 shortly before noon. They were found in the Bakersfield area, about 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Authorities are investigating.

Authorities are searching for a 1-month-old boy reported to have been abducted by his father after a domestic incident, Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said.

An Amber Alert was issued late Friday afternoon for a 2007 white, Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck with the license plate 02390P1. The truck was last spotted north of the 138 Freeway in Gorman and may be headed north on the 5 Freeway, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials tweeted.

The father, Jeffrey Michael Gomes, is considered armed and dangerous, officials said. He was described as a 42-year-old man, 6 feet tall, 207 pounds and possibly wearing a black and gray long sleeve shirt, gray hat and dark blue jeans.

From Fort Tejon, the child, Jefferson Gomes, was described as 12 pounds with brown hair and eyes and wearing a navy blue onesie, California Highway Patrol officials said. Authorities earlier incorrectly reported that he was 1 month old.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
