One man has been killed and two others wounded in a shooting at the Gem City Bar and Grill in Monrovia.

Officers from the Monrovia Police Department Police responded to a "shots fired" call early Saturday morning at the Gem City Bar and Grill, and discovered three men who had been shot.

"According to witnesses, the suspects entered the bar and got into an argument with other patrons. At one point, the argument escalated into a fight, at which time one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and started shooting," deputy Charles Moore with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department tells KPCC.

All three victims were taken to hospitals. One of them, a 43-year-old man, died from his injuries. The two other victims are expected to survive.

It's unclear what caused the argument. The suspects are still at large.

Detectives from the LASD have joined the investigation but the Sheriff's Department says there's no information about the suspect.
