TSA at LAX Airport is trying out new 3D scanners for carry-on luggage and ID machines. There's still years before they could replace current technology in airports nationwide, but it could make boarding passes for security checks obsolete and requirements to take electronics and liquids out of carry-on bags a thing of the past.
