In Wake of LAPD Allegations A Renewed City Effort to Fix Sexual Harassment Problems

The Los Angeles Police Department is no stranger to internal problems and lately the department has been embroiled in a handful of high-profile sexual harassment allegations against members of the police force.

News of the latest allegations emerged late last week, when a female captain filed a lawsuit. That suit alleged a nude photo — which she said some falsely claimed was her — had been passed around the police department.

The suit spurred efforts to speed up reform. On Friday, City Councilmembers Nury Martinez and Paul Krekorian presented a motion asking for an update on progress.
