After 25 years behind bars, man walks free after murder conviction vacated

Michael Tirpak was convicted of first degree murder in 1996 for being the alleged getaway driver for men who killed a man during an attempted robbery. He always maintained his innocence, saying he did not know his companions were going to commit a crime. The Loyola Project for the Innocent and a change in state law helped secure his release.
