Experts are out today at Santa Anita Park this week to examine the one-mile track that has been the scene of 21 horse deaths in just ten weeks.

Deadly injuries can happen fast on the track. While racing on Saturday, 4-year old filly Eskenforadrink was in the lead when suddenly her body buckled. She broke her leg and was euthanized. Just three days later, another horse died. That’s when track officials shut down races.

Now, track maintenance experts will test the track consistency and uniformity.
