If you get in a car accident in Los Angeles instead of calling an officer to the scene, you can now go online and file a report yourself.  The Los Angeles Police Department has announced a new accident reporting system that drivers can use if there aren’t any injuries in the crash.

Many LAPD police officers spend more than half of their time behind desks filling out reports instead of out in the neighborhoods they serve, according to an LAPD survey of thousands of their officers.

The new online system will let drivers take over some of that work. You can file your report on LAPD's website.
