LA's plastic straw ban goes into effect

You'll have to try a little harder now to get a straw with your drink. The City of Los Angeles is kicking off a new rule that bans big businesses from giving out straws unless they’re requested. 

The new rule applies to businesses with 26 or more employees in an effort to reduce plastic waste — but drive-thrus are an important exception. From your car, you still automatically get a straw.
