Over half a century ago, a young sailor from Montebello, CA died in a plane crash in a remote, mountainous area of Vietnam.

For decades, the U.S government couldn't recover Raul Guerra's remains. But his best friend Ruben Valencia never stopped trying to bring him home.

In April, Guerra was finally laid to rest in Southern California. KPCC's Libby Denkmann has the story.
