A shooter ambushed two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies earlier this month in Compton sending both to the hospital and resulting in a manhunt for the suspect. Video shows a person walking up to a patrol car and firing into the passenger window. The footage is grainy and shows a person approaching the car, firing a gun and then running away.

LASD reported that both deputies were released from the hospital after undergoing surgery and treatment, while also stating that it would be a long road to a full recovery. This morning, Sheriff Alex Villanueva gave an update into the investigation of the shooting. KPCC’s Robert Garrova has been following and joins Larry to explain what we know at this point.
