A new documentary opening in Los Angeles today tells the story of one man's quest to save Russian Avant-Garde art from the Soviet regime. In 'Desert of Forbidden Art', we learn how Igor Savitsky smuggles over forty thousand artistic gems out of Russia, before housing them in a museum set in the remote desert town of Nukus in Uzbekistan. Filmmakers Amanda Pope and Tchavdar Georgiev share the story.
